OHS 5073 - Understanding Your Leadership (Formerly CCSL 4510)
Course Description
Health and Safety leaders play a key role in driving positive change within their organizations. This course will not only help the student to recognize their current leadership skills and abilities but to also recognize the key skills required of a competent safety leader.

Course Outline
This course includes 4 modules and requires approximately 52 hours of student engagement.
Learner Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Differentiate between leadership and management.
- Understand and implement different leadership theories and strategies.
- Utilize the necessary skills for safety leadership, including both hard and soft skills.
- Evaluate the impact of personality traits on communication and leadership, and efficiently use personality and skills assessments to enhance team management.
- Advance your knowledge of the best techniques and strategies for effective listening, stress and time management, and leadership development.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites if you are taking this course as part of the Certificate in Safety Leadership.
If you are taking this course as an elective in our Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS) program, you must be accepted and enrolled in the DOHS program to register.
