Accessibility

Participant substitution/transfer between courses

Participants may be substituted or transferred from one professional development course to another if they meet the criteria for acceptance and if the change doesn't affect the decision to cancel the course. The student may be responsible to pay any additional fees that are related to the change.

Attendance and participation for both online and in-person classes:

  • Students are expected to attend all classes, laboratories, tutorials, webinars, class meetings, and practicums (if applicable).
  • Students are required to complete all course/program assigned assessments, otherwise they will be considered "non-participating"

Professional program offences

Harassment, bullying, cheating and plagiarism will result in immediate dismissal and termination. No refunds.

Absence from class(es)

Most class absences should be worked out between the student and the team lead for the program. Because of the compressed nature of workshops/classes, absence from more than one class may be considered unacceptable for course completion and a student may be required to drop the class.

Medical

In a case where a student misses a workshop or seminar for medical reasons, a note of leave may be requested for continuation in the next module, or a partial refund may be issued. Contact customerservice@unb.ca for additional information.

Course cancellations

  • Courses may be cancelled if the minimum enrolment is not met or for various other administrative problems. In the event a cancellation should occur, notice will be given to each participant as quickly as possible.
  • A full refund will be issued to the participant, or the participant’s payment may be retained and the student enroled in the next offering or a different topic selected by the individual.

Parking regulations

  • Parking on campus is permitted in designated areas only (visitor’s parking) but is free after 4:00 p.m. and on the weekends. Daily parking passes for the Fredericton campus are available at UNB Security.
  • If you are attending a class and parking on campus, please check with the program lead.

Inclement weather cancellation policy

  • If the university is closed due to inclement weather, professional development in person classes will also be cancelled that day. Closure notifications are found at www.unb.ca.  Contact customerservice@unb.ca for additional information.
  • Course participants will be notified of the date and time of the rescheduled classes at the next class or by telephone/e-mail.
