Course Description

This non-credit interactive course is intended to prepare students for university-level chemistry courses. This course is fast-paced and takes place over 12 weeks. Assessment includes (but is not limited to) weekly assignments, a mid-term and final exam.

Topics include:

Elements and Compounds; Chemical Reactions; Atomic Structure; The Periodic Table; Chemical Names and Formulas; Chemical Quantities; and, Stoichiometry.

This course is delivered entirely online via Desire2Learn (D2L) and Microsoft Teams. Students must have access to a computer, microphone and speakers, or a headset. Students will be required to participate in a live, interactive session to take place one evening per week for the duration of the course. Students will also be required to submit a final exam form.

Withdrawals and refunds:

  • Withdrawal within the first week - refund of full course fee paid less $50 administration fee
  • Withdrawal after completion of the first week - no refund
