Course Description

The goals of this course are to:

  • Build Planning Capacity: Develop and enhance the municipality’s internal capacity for water/wastewater planning by introducing key concepts and best practices.

  • Apply Knowledge: Equip staff with the confidence to apply learned planning concepts to real- world water/wastewater systems and to recognize when to engage external experts for support, ensuring they have enough baseline knowledge to work effectively with consultants.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and explain the key practices of water/wastewater infrastructure planning.

  • Identify key factors for success that will enable their water/wastewater system planning

    projects to be successful.

  • Identify the practical steps to initiate or improve their water/wastewater plans.
