Course Description

Effective communication defines a manager's ultimate success. Many managers underestimate how critical communications skills are in defining their ability to work effectively with peers and direct reports.

This course can be taken on its own or as part of the required courses for the Certificate in Management Essentials program.

The completion of this course qualifies IPMA-Canada members to receive five (5) recertification points.

Course Outline

This course requires approximately 15-18 hours of student engagement.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Effectively use non-verbal communication, representing approximately 70-80% of all communications.
  • Understand how to manage the flight response when communicating with others.
  • Master verbal communication skills to reduce miscommunication and facilitate two-way conversations.
