MGT 2003 - Leadership vs. Management (Formerly CCME 1003)
Course Description
Leadership and management are roles that require two different sets of skills. The purpose of this course is to provide managers with the ability to answer these two questions, while examining where the manager falls between leadership and management and what he/she needs to develop in order to become a more effective manager.
As you go through this course you will begin to develop insight into the various components of Leadership, Management, and Team Building. An awareness of these three concepts will allow you to balance these skill sets and apply them in the appropriate context.
This course also includes a Hogan Development Survey (HDS) tool, which measures 11 patterns of interpersonal behaviour that tend to appear when you are stressed, tired, or distracted so they can be better managed.
This course can be taken on its own or as part of the required courses for the Certificate in Management Essentials program.
The completion of this course qualifies IPMA-Canada members to receive five (5) recertification points.
