MGT 2009 - Leading and Managing Through Change (Formerly CCME 1103)
Course Description
Managerial success benefits from the ability to adapt to and lead change effectively. This course aims to equip managers with a deep understanding of what change entails and the common drivers behind it, enhancing their ability to guide their teams through transitions.
You will also explore how employees typically respond to change, strategies to minimize resistance, and the fundamentals of implementing a change management strategy. This comprehensive approach ensures managers are well-prepared to handle organizational change efficiently.
This course can be taken on its own or as an elective in the Certificate in Management Essentials program.
The completion of this course qualifies IPMA-Canada members to receive five (5) recertification points.
Course Outline
This course requires approximately 15-18 hours of student engagement.
Learner Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Define and understand change management as well as the drivers that facilitate change.
- Facilitate change at the group level by utilizing change management strategies.
- Facilitate change at the individual level through employee coping strategies and change management best practices.
