MGT 2015 - Cognitive Strategies for Leaders (Formerly CCME 1109)
Course Description
This course equips you with essential cognitive strategies to enhance your leadership capabilities. It delves into critical thinking skills that are crucial for leading effectively and explores game theory as well as influencing strategies.
The course also introduces you to practical skills in expanding professional networks and the fundamentals of "selling." These elements are designed to empower managers to build stronger business relationships and effectively promote ideas and projects within and outside their organizations.
This course can be taken on its own or as an elective in the Certificate in Management Essentials program.
The completion of this course qualifies IPMA-Canada members to receive five (5) recertification points.
Course Outline
This course requires approximately 15-18 hours of student engagement.
Learner Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of critical thinking, game theory, and deductive reasoning.
- Build an in-depth sales strategy, including how to qualify a buyer, close a deal, overcome objections, and effectively build a network.
- Utilize various influencing strategies to navigate interpersonal workplace relationships and other potential barriers to success.
